Boost VC

Adam Draper and Brayton Williams.

Fund Size

Roughly $200M in assets under management. Adam Draper raised over $87M for a recent Boost fund.

Thesis

An early-stage accelerator and fund that made Bitcoin a core focus years before the rest of the industry caught on. Boost VC ran dedicated Bitcoin accelerator batches starting in 2013 and wrote some of the earliest checks into the space, backing founders building the first consumer and infrastructure companies on Bitcoin.

Portfolio

Coinbase (an early seed investment), Casa, Abra, Ripio, Wyre, Etherscan, Aragon, and Unstoppable Domains, among hundreds of startups across digital assets and frontier technology.

Why It Matters

Boost VC is the Draper family vehicle that actually funded Bitcoin early. Adam Draper backed Coinbase at the seed stage, an investment his father Tim famously passed on, and ran one of the first accelerators dedicated to Bitcoin startups. That conviction, at a moment when almost no institutional capital would touch the space, helped seed the first generation of Bitcoin companies.

Companies on this list they backed

Coinbase, Gemini, Ledger
